Day Thirty

Today is the last day of blogging and I don't think I will miss it. It was a lot of work and I know that it was better than writing on paper the whole time. One day when I am sad I might start a blog about my life but as of now I think that I will leave the blogging alone for a while.

Blogging was a different experience for me though. It was something different and I can tell my little cousins that there is a website where you can right about your feeling when your angry instead of calling me. I am grateful that I got to experience this but it will probably be my last time blogging

Day Twenty Nine

My dedication is really personal. I love my nephew and I am so glad that he was born. When he was born I cried and ever since then I have not been able to let him go. He has always showed me in the oddest ways that life is not given you have to earn it.

My nephew loves children's books and he loves to read. We buy him books every weekend and he sits and tries to read them. He is the best thing that ever happened to me and I want him to know that I love him so much and everything I do is for his better good.

Day Twenty Eight

The title of my story is Snow White and the 10 dwarfs. It is a simple land and a name is easy to remember

1. Snow White and the 10 Dwarfs: a normal folk tale name there really is nothing too big about this name

2. Good Vs. Evil: This is the real moral of the story

3. Snow White and the Poisonous Apple: That is the cause of her deep sleep

4. Mirror Mirror on the Wall: The main reason the Stepmother is angry

5. Who's the Fairest of them all: What the Step mother is angry about and wants to be.

Day Twenty Seven

Well...I was looking over my blurb book and i was trying out the yearbook page. it was really funny. You can write comments about people, ex: if you don't like a girl and she is in the year book you can write "eeww, she is a stupid girl" but thats not what i did. I was thinking about our Blurb Book and why my book keep deleting.

I was looking at other people blogs today and saw that some people are really thinking hard and I want to congradulate Adora Yang, Jordan Adams, Mia Richardson, Lada (cant remember how to spell the last name). Good job ladies and guess what? Your all ladies. Women Power! I need to start putting my pictures in chronological order.

Day Twenty Six

Today I haven't really done anything on blurb book. Everything started to delete by its self. I don't know what is wrong with my computer so i started to write down everything instead of rely on the computer. Everything that i have done is written on a piece of paper. I have started the intro and i really like it.

I am having troubles with the ending and the end of the climax section. It is all looking too modern. I am not having troubles with my illustrations. I actually like this Blurb Book thing if it would stop deleting what I write. I also want to thank Mr.Prier for showing me something new.

Day Twenty Five

After reading through my manuscript I saw that it was not flowing at all. There were parts that skipped around and confused me so I know that it would confuse a child or any reader. I story had a good point but was not put into the right words. My style was very modernized instead of a little older.

Over all my story had a good message and I liked it. I know there are many things that i could work on. My story did not flow from page to page it was more like page to page then confusing page then the flowing came back. I need help so Comment Please.

Day Twenty Four

The climax of my story is going to be when the witch gives Snow White the poisonous apple to eat. It is the climax because it leaves the reader guessing what is going to happen to Snow White after this and makes the reader think a little more. I think this is a good climax because it is when everything about the story gets interesting.

The reader is suspicious and wanting to know more. They do not know how she is going to get out of this situation or what is going to happen to the step mother. They might think that she is going to get away with it and live happily ever after. They do not know how the prince is going to react to the situation either

Day Twenty three

My Social Responsibility is that she has to run away from her step mother because she wants to kill her. Running in the woods with no where to go she finds a small house. When she walks in she sees 10 small beds and 10 small plates. She falls asleep because she is so tired of running. They come in and see her on their bed they leave her alone and let her sleep.

She has social responsibility because she had to find somewhere to go before her step mother comes and finds her. She only has a matter of time to go and hide before her Step Mother finds out that she isn't dead. When she does she find out that she isn't dead she goes and looks for her.

Day Twentytwo

My theme is good over comes evil. Snow White does not necessarily defeat her Step Mother she simply makes her step mother defeat herself. She also makes the witch defeat herself. All Snow white does is follow her heart and be a good daughter and soon to be wife.

She is always nice to other people and it seems that she gets good back. Another theme that i might throw in there is that bad things can happen to you, you just have to stay positive and good will eventually come out of you. Snow White always treated people how she wanted to be treated and that seemed to work for her. She eventually got married and had a loving husband.

Day TwentyOne

Once Upon a time a baby girl and a baby boy were born on the same day. They were born on totally different sides of the town. The boy was a beautiful rich prince and the girl was a poor girl with a great family. My illustrations will be a beautiful girl and a handsome baby boy with extremely different backgrounds and different clothing that shows that they are totally different.

They boy will be rapped in silk sheets and has a crown on his head with the background of his palace behind him. They girl which is Snow White will be wrapped in a rag that is torn and dirty and the background will be her kitchen where there are dirty dishes in them but everyone is smiling. They are extremely happy to see a baby girl.

Day Twenty

Today I had to think about illustrations. I want my pictures to look professional but to also give something that children want to look at. I will have 7 of my pictures to look like a child drew them instead of a good designer so it will appeal to younger children.

I will have Esai Moya Draw Snow White and the 7 dwarfs so that they children will know what they are looking at instead of some little drawings. I will also use paintbrush so that it will look authentic and not so perfect. Pictures are a big part in children books. It makes the child want to look at the book more.

Day Nineteen

One thing that i think is missing from my cultural pastiche is fun information that will catch the readers eye. All of my information is facts about their family and what they do. There is nothing fun about the culture that I have displayed.

It can make the reader think that Korea is boring and has nothing fun to do. I should add somethings about what they like to do and what they do for fun. I was going to add the activities that they do as families because they are always together and have a strong family bond.

Day Eighteen

The Dead Princess and the 7 Knights by Aleksandr Pushkin is the replica of Snow White without the 7 dwarfs. Instead of Dwarfs theier are Knights. I was originated in Germany also

Hansel and Gretel by the Brothers Grimm is about a brother and sister that get lost in the woods with out thier paents and do not know where to go or how they got there.

Little Red Riding Hood is also by the Brothers Grimm. It is originated in Germany also. It is about a your girl that goes into the woods to bring her grandmother some food because she is sick.

She is seen by a wolf that wants to eat her.

The stories all have strong meaning to them and all have a moral to them. Aleksandr Pushkin made the 7 knights to be like a poem and it eventually got published as book,

The brothers Grimm have made a lot of stories that we all have seen or read before. They are great authors.

Day Seventeen

The story that I compared Snow White to was Cinderella. Cinderella went through so many obstacles to be herself and happy. She had people trying to dim her shine and in the end they could not break something that was unbreakable. Cinderella also had someone that came into the story to make things better. She had her fairy Godmother that changed the sequence of the story to make her feel better. And Snow White had the 7 dwarfs and her prince charming.

They have many more similarities that no one notices until they watch Cinderella and Snow White back to back. Cinderella has more of a happy ending and more things to be happy for. She and her Stepmother never have to talk again also her 2 stepsisters do not get to be with her.

Day Sixteen

My folk tale has may different characters. I have 10 dwarfs instead of the original 7. Snow white has a high pitch beautiful voice that is beautiful when she sings. The witch has a soft voice, The prince has a strong stern voice. All of the 10 dwarfs sound exactly alike except for the 2 twin girls which makes it hard for Snow white to determine who's talking. The 2 twins have very squeaky voices that pierce Snow Whites ears.
The animated rabbit has a deep voice like a man but she is a woman. But when she gets excited she starts to get very squeaky. So squeaky that it could break glass. The animated weed has a little voice but speaks his mind. Starts to tell Snow White that he doens't like her clothes and her hair. Has a extreme sense of humor that makes the prince giggle until his head hurts

Day Fifteen

In my PK I found it a little hard to find things to say so I winged it. I knew what I had to say but it was rather hard to put in words. I think that I could have prepared myself better and found out more things to tell the class about my culture. I could have been a little more informative.

I think overall I did well. My pictures were a little blurry and it could have been easier to see. Also I had some pictures that I did not explain why they were there. It could have confused some of the class.

I am proud that I got it over with and got to tell the class all about my story. I want to also congratulate all of the people that were prepared and that went today. Good job class were the best.

Day Fourteen

My story happens in a week time span. 1. Snow White is born. 2. Her mother dies. 3. Her father gets remarried to an sneaky beautiful lady. 4. Her step mother finds out that she is no longer the prettiest in the country by her mystical mirror. 5. Step mother calles the beautiful witch to kill Snow White. 6. Snow white runs away to be safe. 7. Meets all 10 dwarfs. 8. Snow White eats the poisonus apple. 9. Prince talks to the fortune teller and gets insite that his wife is Snow White and he has to find her. 11. Snow white is kissed my the prince of Korea. 12. Is told that she has to find the beautiful witch. 13. Meets the talking plant and the plant tells her when he last saw the beautiful witch. 14. Then meets the overbarring rabbit that helps them find the castle. 15. Sings to the frogs to enter the castle wherer the beautiful witch lives. 16. The witch is forced to cure Snow White of the curse. 17. They talk the Witch off the bridge into the ocean where she is trapped for 1000 years. 18. Head back home to the 10 dwarfs, father, and stepmother. 19. The step mother is convicted and executed. 20. The mystical mirror is destroyed.

They will all link together because everything is happening because something else happened. Snow White is born while her mother is dying. It makes her father extremely sad which makes him feel like he needs to remarry so he will feel like he has someone else with him. Which makes all of this happen to Snow White

Day Thirteen

The Folk Tale message that I want to show everyone is that "good things come to those who do good" and "bad things come to those who do bad and wish bad upon others". Snow White was always the person who was nice and sweet to others and who cared about others feelings. She always treated people how she wanted to be treated and how she wanted others to treat her.
The Witch was always jealous of Snow White. Ever since she was a baby. She wanted Snow Whites beauty and personality. She was always trying to kill Snow White and harm her. She wanted nothing good to happen to Snow White. In the end the witch is stuck underwater and will never return to earth until 1000 years. When Rain Blue is born.

Day Twelve

In my folk tale my characters are none of the different types that Mr.Prier gave me. The closest one was Trickster. Actually my characters are Anti-trickster. She is weak and the witch minipulates her into eating the apple which makes her sleep for a long time and only the prince is the only one who can bring her back.
Snow White is gulliable and easy to persuade. When the witch comes to her cottage and plays as her grandmother she does not see the difference. The witch has a mole on her right cheek and her grandmother never had one. Which makes Snow White seem like she does not know who her grandmother is inside or out.

Day Eleven

I never really thought about numbers to make my story become liver and more mythalogical. But now that I think it had the opportunity to think about it and put it into use numbers will actually intensify my project. My favorite number is 1. So I should choose that one.

There could be only 1 talking rabbit and only 1 prince that will set her free from the long sleep. There are also 10 dwarfs instead of 7 in the story just to spice it up. They all have 1 simple attitude and that is the only attitude that they display on a normal basis.

Day Ten

The blogging has showed me that there are many other ways to put a story together instead of the same old writing in a journal. The blogging also give you time to think about what to put. It also keeps all of your thoughts in one place.

I like the fact that people can comment on your post and tell you what you can improve and what you can change. It is extremely beneficial. I have researched all about Korean cultures and read many versions of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. It shows me more of a respect for Korean culture.

I would recommend more people to use blogger

Day Nine

In the original Snow White there was an apple that would put Snow White to sleep and only a kiss could wake her. In my Fairly Tale The appl ewill makeher fall asleep and the kiss will only keep her awake for 2 days in that 2 days she has to find the wicked witch to release the curse.

During her journey to finding a witch she wil find a talking weed that will tell her all about the witches home and what it looks like. Then she will run into an extremely huge Rabbit that will go with her and the prince to find the witch. The rabbit talks extremely too much which makes Snow White laugh but irritates The Prince.

When reaching the witches home there are 3 singing frogs that won't let Snow White, The Prince, and The Rabbit in. She sings for them and they let her in because they are so astonished of her voice.

Day Eight

The character Snow White is an Korean girl who is a little gullible. She sees everything as a peaceful surrounding and nothing could ever hurt her. She walks around like she lives in heaven and there is no one who could ever do harm to her. Until the witch wants her dead.

Some of the 10 dwarfs are nice or some are mean some are sweet and some are devilish. They all have different personalities and and morals. The 10 dwarfs all have top hats but they are all different colors. Orange, green, purple, blue, ect. Snow white wears this purple, pink and blue dress.

Day Seven

Today in class we filled out a sheet that had a lot of important definitions to know. I brainstormed how I wanted my dwarfs to look and Snow White. I also put a spin on the way the Witch looks. In most fairy tales the "Monster" is either ugly, old, or scary. I decided that I wanted my witch to be extremely beautiful.

The dwarfs name will change. The will no longer be called "dwarfs" they will be called Twarfs. They should be tall instead of short. They all have different personalities like the original Snow White. They prince will be short and stubby, but has a heart of gold. Snow White will be a darker Korean.

Day Six

Today was a bizarre day I attempted to wake up early enough to go to church but it did not seem to happen. Did not do anything with the pastiche but a lot of tragic things happened. My younger cousin fell down the stairs with my nephew and fractured her hip. The doctors said she should be okay if she stays inactive for 10-12 weeks.

Fortunately my nephew was unharmed only because my crazy little cousin was down by the stairs waiting on me to come out of the washroom to scare me. God works in many ways. Pray for my cousin everyone. Just got home from the hospital.

Day Five

I have Found 10 Korean names that have good meanings. Dong, who is shy, Jung Hwa who is obsessed with money, In-Su who has lots of wisdom, Mun Hee who is very educated, Bon-Hwa who is the popular one, Mi-Cha who is beautiful and is a twin girl, Mo-Ok who is the second twin also a female and means pearls, Oh' tay who is usually rude and grumpy, Sook who lets people run over him because he is extremely nice, Huh which is a name that I made up, which means not as intelligent or dumb.

These names are extremely important because in the original Snow-White all the dwarfs had names that explained how they act. For example Grumpy was always angry. The names were extremely hard to find because Koreans names are hard to find and pronounce.

Day Four

Today I researched more about the Korean Cuisine and what it is mainly based on. Figured out that I want two of the dwarfs to be women I feel that it will bring a little bit more twist to it. Found that Koread food originated from Ancient agriculture and nomadic traditions in souther Machuna and in the Northern Korean Peninsula. Hanjeongsik is a full course Korean meal with a variety of Side dishes. Usually prepared for big get togethers.

Also found out that Kimoni: is a spicy and sour dish usually eaten with every meal. There are 4 main religions in Korea. The first is Buddhism which is slowly dying out. It was one of the first religions. Then there is Christianity, which is becoming extremely large in Korea. So far it is the largest religion. Then there are the two smaller ones which is confucianism and Shamanism. They are not technically religions but have many religious values. Korean education is taken very strongly.

Day Three

Today I researched the background of Chinese food and the difference of chinese foods from Korean foods. Found out that Koreans eat many different dishes that Chinese people do not. Also researched what an Archetype Character is. Started to find background information on the Korean names that I choose for my 10 dwarfs.
Started to think more about what the witch is chasing Snow White for. I think its going to be more interesting now. Needing help on what the main plot should be. Found out that Korean names have a different history than Japanese names.

Day Two

Started to brainstorm a little more. Figured out that I want Snow White to be trapped in a time zone that she knows nothing about. The 10 dwarfs will be with her the whole way. I have tried to think of some motifs but I am having a little trouble.
I have choose that the culture is Korean and her time zone would be in Atlanta Georgia. The witch is looking for her but has not yet found her. Running away from something that is going to eventually catch up with her. Snow White has not figured out a plan to destroy the witch.

Day One

Today I choose "Snow White and the 10 Dwarfs". It usually has 7 dwarfs but I wanted to change it up a little. She is an Asian girl named Amaya Bao. She is running away from a witch that is trying to poison her. Why? No one knows. She finds herself staying with the 10 dwarfs. They have peculiar names but they often make her smile.

One day she wakes up and she is in Atlanta Georgia. She has no idea how she got there but has to find a way out. What to do? She finds clues that help her get back to the dwarfs home. The witch is still following her.
